According to a source, Charlotte FC are closing in on the signing of USMNT and Fulham defender Tim Ream. The club is looking to bolster their squad heading into the summer and has opened negotiations with the St. Louis-born defender. Ream is reportedly open to the move, and there is a good possibility that Charlotte FC will sign him.

The 36-year-old defender joined Fulham in 2015 and has made 281 appearances for the club. Tim Ream also brings international experience, with 51 caps for the USMNT. He would look to add more experience to a backline that has turned it around this season and has kept 7 clean sheets.

Why do this when we cannot score at will? We have a good starting 4, Tuiloma signing should have taught us something about aging out defenders. I agree we do not have great defenders beyond the starters. But we do have adequate fill-ins and need scorers much more. Put the ball in the back of the net will take some pressure off those 4 starters.
