Charlotte FC is currently in negotiations with FK Čukarički for the transfer of Senegalese defender Hamady Diop. The 22-year-old is set to move to the Serbian league after a difficult season and a half, during which he made just three appearances for Charlotte FC and 11 for the MLS Next Pro side, Crown Legacy.

Hamady Diop was the number one draft pick for Charlotte FC in the MLS SuperDraft in 2023. The club traded $200K in General Allocation Money (GAM), $200K in 2024 GAM, and an additional $50K GAM if certain incentives were met. St. Louis also received Charlotte FC’s 20th overall pick in the 2023 draft. The young defender will join former Charlotte FC players Guzman Corujo and Vinicius Mello, who were also transferred to the Serbian club earlier this year.
