According to sources, Charlotte FC will play the Seattle Sounders on the road for their MLS season opener. This will be the third meeting between the clubs. Charlotte lost in Seattle during their inaugural season 2-1. In 2023, the Crown drew the Sounders 3-3 in a shootout thriller at Bank of America Stadium.
Charlotte will have a difficult first test in 2025 as Seattle finished fourth in the Western Conference. The Sounders ended their season in the MLS Cup Conference Final, losing to the LA Galaxy who went on to win their record sixth MLS Cup.
Seattle's defense was the only one ranked better than Charlotte's in 2024 based on goals against. The Sounders look to be improving as they negotiate deals to bring in Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola as attacking reinforcements.
After Charlotte's MLS opener in Seattle, sources report that the Crown will play at home on March 1. This game will be nationally televised. Full schedule is set to be released this week.
