Charlotte FC is back for the second of back-to-back home matches at the Bank this weekend. The side is set to square off against the New England Revolution on Saturday.

Charlotte, currently top of the Eastern Conference, will have a great opportunity to keep their home form going and further advance their lead in the table.

Ahead of this weekend, here is how Charlotte fans can expect the team to lineup.

Defensive unit

Across the back, fans should expect a very similar lineup to what we saw last week, with Nick Scardina expected to continue as the starting right back, because Nathan Byrne is expected to be out for the next six to seven weeks

In the center back spots, Adilson Malanda and Andrew Privett are proving to be Dean Smith's favored starting pair, and Tim Ream will be out left.

Smith reported that Souleyman Doumbia will be out for a few weeks due to a severe hamstring injury he suffered last weekend, leaving the club with a lack of depth at left back heading into May.

Midfield line

Charlotte’s midfield trio will have minimal changes heading into the weekend. The central midfield pairing of Ashley Westwood and Brandt Bronico will almost certainly be the anchors, with Pep Biel, who continues to impress, playing in front of them as the connector in the attack.

As Charlotte continues to have success at home, the midfield has been a core component of the team’s fortunes therefore, it would be a surprise for all fans if Smith were to change this midfield three.

Forward line

Up front, Patrick Agyemang, who got on the score sheet last week against San Diego with his penalty conversion, will most likely start at center forward. Alongside Agyemang, Charlotte’s DP Wilfried Zaha will look to service the forward on the left, with Liel Abada, who also found the back of the net last week, is expected to start on the right. Fans can also expect Idan Toklomati to feature as a second-half substitute for Agyemang.

With New England continuing to struggle, a win at home this weekend in front of the Crown’s fans is vital for continuing to secure their place at the top of the table.
