According to a source, Ole Gunnar Solskjær has inquired about a coaching role with Charlotte FC, among other teams in MLS. The former Manchester United treble winner is interested in coaching in MLS and has expressed a desire to come to the Queen City.

Per a source, Solskjær was in Charlotte before Charlotte FC's match against Toronto FC and stopped by Charlotte FC's new facilities as part of his tour visiting multiple MLS teams with his interest in coaching in this league. At Charlotte FC's Performance Center media day, club president Joe Labue made reference to a former Manchester United coach visiting the facilities. "We just had someone over here that was with Manchester United. Won champions leagues and has been extremely impressed with our facilities {and} with Major League soccer."

Solskjær, a former Premier League striker, has not coached since his departure from Manchester United in 2021 but is eager to return to coaching and sees MLS as an attractive league. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Charlotte FC is interested in hiring Ole.

Charlotte FC has experienced a turbulent season under Christian Lattanzio this year, as the team has struggled to secure a playoff spot. With only two games remaining, Charlotte FC has a chance to host a historic play-in match should they be able to beat Inter Miami twice to close out the league. However, according to the source, there is no guarantee that Christian Lattanzio will continue as the head coach if the team fails to make the playoffs.
