Three days ago The Athletic's Tom Bogert reported that Charlotte FC were finalizing a deal to trade Andre Shinyashiki to Real Salt Lake for winger Justin Meram. Today, Bogert provided an update on this saying that Charlotte FC's initial trade is being amended and that they are still acquiring Meram but they are trading allocation money instead for him. Per source, Charlotte are still looking to part ways with Andre Shinyashiki. It is highly unlikely that he will ever play for Charlotte FC again.
In a press conference last week, when Charlotte FC's head coach was asked about Shinyashiki and teammate Nuno Santos being left off of the squad the week before Lattanzio stated that they were dealing with "private" matters. Lattanzio finished his response by saying that he did not want to discuss it any further. Per sources, Charlotte FC and MLS are conducting an investigation.
Shinyashiki was picked up in a trade last season by Charlotte FC. He became an immediate fan favorite by scoring the game winner against Inter Miami at Bank of America Stadium in his debut as a substitute. Shinyashiki has made 28 appearances for Charlotte FC, scoring seven goals in that time.
Another amateur story that adds nothing to inform the fans.
